Cravings~ Part 3

Back again. =)

In This post, I am going to share about the buffet experience that I've had with Sakae Sushi. Currently they have 3 types of buffet promotions; Tea time, lunch and dinner buffets. The Tea time buffet is only for 60minutes (1hour) and I think it would be suitable for OLs and salesman who are always on the go, yet craving for Japanese food during lunch. It is just the same as the lunch and dinner buffet package, except for the fact that they are offering it at a lower price and shorter time frame. I have tried all the buffet packages before in Sakae, and I must say that I am very pleased over their services and food quality. Despite their prices of the foods being set higher than some other Japanese buffet restaurants, I have to admit that it is still considered good value for the amount of spent on the meals with them.

Not long ago I went for their tea time buffet and had a satisfying meal by myself while waiting to go for a movie. Since I am alone, I do not wanted to stay in the restaurant for too long just in case I feel embarrassed (and not to over-eat as well) haha~ These are some of the items which I have ordered;

Chawanmushi~ I am very impressed with their version of the chawanmushi because not only it's really piping hot, they managed to turned the ingredients very flavourful and smooth. The gravy on top of the chawanmushi gives if a better taste too!

A bowl of complimentary Udon. Despite the fact that the amount of Udon and other ingredients in the bowl are not as much as their usual ala carte menu's Udon, it is still very filling because it is a soup based item. If you are going for their sushi items, I will suggest that you want to share this with you friend instead so that you will be able to have a larger variety of items to try in the buffet.

The complimentary red plated item. I ordered kajiki toro sashimi! It was heavenly! =)

One of the most impressive Spicy salmon gunkan sushi I have ever tried. The tinge of sesame oil in the spicy sauce makes me want to have more! Salmon lovers will be excited over this dish! =)

After all the oily stuffs you had, go for a refreshing mochi treat~ It is actually mochi ice-cream. Many flavours to choose from: peach, strawberry etc. Each person is entitled to 2 pieces if I am not mistaken.

Juicy Goodness.

Cravings~ part 2

As continued from the previous post, I am updating this one with the 2nd set of buffet deals that I have came across over the past few years.

The 2nd restaurant that I am going to introduce to you readers would be the Suki Sushi Japanese restaurant. I am sure that most of you would not be unfamiliar to this particular restaurant because it is one of the sister branches under the Suki Group of restaurants. I personally liked to visit the Orchard Cineleisure branch because it is situated in the urban CBD area, and much more accessible for other shopping deals after your meals at the restaurant.

My friends and I would prefer to go for the Student buffet package (Just show them your valid student card and you are entitled for student deals) as it is much more economical, and we do get a range of delicacies over for the buffet session. Here are some of the foodstuffs that we will always order when we go for their buffets:

Sashimis! They do serve fresh, succulent and juicy dose of sashimis such as salmon, nama ebi (sweet shrimps), tai, tako, ni hotate and kajiki toro etc. If you are an avid fan of sashimi, you will be quite pleased to be able to enjoy these at a free flow rate.

Sweet seasoned tako! =) Maximum loves~

one of my favourites: Spicy salmon Gunkan Sushi.

Teriyaki Chicken

Tuna Mayo Gunkan Sushi

This is one of the best cream puffs that I've had before; it will be even more perfect for consumption when the staffs got these little puffs out from the fridge directly and serve them to your dining tables~ OH GOODNESS! It literally melts in your mouth! *slurps* One of the 'must try' in their buffet menu.

Free flow of drinks: Orange, Lime, guava fruit juice~

one of my personal favorite: Fried Shishamos. with a tinge of mayo and lemon juice, and a gentle dip of light soy sauce with wasabi. mmmmmm~ Heavenly goodness!

Chawanmushi a.k.a Steam egg~ love it when it is served piping hot.

Mentai yaki mussels. juicy and sweet! seafood lovers will like this item!

gyozas

I will recommend that you go for the buffet deal with a group of friends; even though the foods were not served in large portion, but if the large group of people gathers to order for each individual items, you would be able to get a taste of those items in a wider variety.

For example: 6 pax ordering 6 items per person = 36 dishes served. Which means each person will be able to try out 36 items (at least, as this is free flow ala carte buffet menu, you are entitled to order anything that is stated in the buffet menu).

I would want to go for another buffet session at suki sushi soon! However, not much time for me to spend now as I am busy with jobs and other misc stuffs etc. It is always a good way to bond with your families and friends over the dining table, share your views and daily life experiences during the meal... Oh goodness! I cannot wait to meet up my besties next week! =)

Thats all for now, blogger is giving me some problems with uploading the pictures into the post. will updated this post once the system is fixed. =) Hope you readers have enjoyed this short article! Stay tuned for more good food recommendations!

Cravings~

If you do not know yet, I am an avid lover for buffets. Especially those from some of the leading international buffet restaurants which serves up to over 30 dishes at a time (or some can serve even more, depending on the price range of your buffet set. )

In the past, I used to visit these restaurants with my loved ones whenever we have the craves for Japanese foods. The few restaurants that we will set on in our list would be such as:

  1. Suki Sushi
  2. Sakura International buffet
  3. Sakae Sushi
  4. Vienna International Buffet
  5. Pariss International Buffet.
p/s: Do note that the rankings are not in sequences. Just a random listing for your references only.

I remember that we used to visit Sakura the most as it was the nearest to our working location. It was rather economical and the variety of food offered from the restaurant was relatively large. Very often during our off days, we would head to the restaurant and enjoy our dosage of buffet and chit chatting sessions. Do not belittle the power of buffet sessions like this, it is a good way of bonding between you and your fellow peers! This, is what we called the joy of sharing food. From appetizers, soups, fried foods, sashimis to desserts. Eat all you can for just one price!

Fried foods

Appetizers

Sashimis

Lovelies shishamos. =)

That's all for now. Will update on the other restaurants in the next few posts! So stay tuned folks!

Sentosa Trip - March 31st 2010

Sentosa is considered one of the most popular tourist attraction in Singapore. I am sure that almost all tourists would love to visit this beautiful island and explore all the fascinating and exciting attractions located in the arena. The last time I went to Sentosa was like exactly 13 months ago~ When Mum and I headed there was around 6 months ago when we headed there for the ESS program with the school. It was a fun experience when you explore the island, and it made me felt like as if I'm a tourist again. Went there yesterday for a secret mission, and hope everything turns well!

Ok back to the track; since this is a food blog, it is no doubt that I'd be updating the posts that are food related. However I've also decided that it shall serve as an spiritual food blog too~ It would be such an honour for me to share with all the visitors of my blog about the sceneries pictures of the places that I have visited each time. So, do expect some of these panoramic views appearing in my posts starting from now! =)

So, reached the island around 9.45a.m. and decided to complete my mission first. In the meantime as I was hungry, I grabbed a snack from the convenience stall and surprisingly, it was GOOD!

Selling at only $3.55. I think it is called Mushroom swiss? There's mushroom, a juicy chicken patty and a slice of cheese with lettuce. Just place it into the microwave oven for around 40 seconds and you will get a very delicious bun anytime~ The portion is quite big as compared to normal burgers! If comparison should be made, I think this is almost as large as Carl's Junior's burger size.

Water is the most essential thing that a human body needs everyday. Thus I brought a bottle of water to the island too! Plus a fact that there are water coolers all around the island, it is quite a economical way to replenish you fluids~ However, if you want to drink some sweetened stuffs.. you can try to find this machine:

Tada! hahaah~ just a normal vending machine but please do not take this lightly ok! If you were to visit the other retail outlets in the island, you will have to pay at least $2 for a bottle of canned drinks. Thus if you were on a much more budgeted plan line, you can search for these machines and averagely the beverages were sold at $1.60 per can. =)

Just wanna show off my camera's snapping skills~ lolx.

And my keychain finally blinged under my camera's shots! hahahaah~

Headed to Siloso beach for a walk. =)

soft sands along the beach. So smooth to step on them! =)

My name hahahaah~

Loved looking at how the waves splashes on the shores~ however I'm too afraid to get near the waves as I do not want to wet my shoes with the sea water.

Then head to the Palawan!! They were having a sand sculpture exhibition fair and yesterday was the last day of the fair. I'm lucky enough to have caught a glimpse of them before they were demolished back into normal sand again.

Juicy secrets~ used to get these flowers when I'm in primary school during the recess time. My friends and I will go to the bushes and pluck the flowers. There is this sweet juice from the stem! hahaha~

After walking under the hot sun for a few hours, it is time for some refreshments. Therefore headed to the Koufu foodcourt and got myself a bowl of Ice Kachang A.K.A Red Bean Ice. It was fabulous! Initially I was afraid that the concoction would be too bland, but it came out just perfect! I can still taste the sweetness of the coconut sugar as well~

Another view of the same bowl of dessert.

Slowly melting in progress (sounds familiar? hahaha. No copyright infringement intended!)

Conquered the hanging bridge and man! It was so freaking me out that, I felt myself gasping for air after crossing the bridge. Might be due to the fact that the bridge was shaking vigorously while I'm crossing it, plus the other tourists jumping back and forth like some crazy wild kid. However it was a very good experience! Managed to get to the southern island and had some cool sweet breeze blowing. Will definitely be back someday soon! =)

After this I headed home. Didn't realized that I got sunburnt until I reached home! Damn! Hahaha~ Thanks goodness I'm clever enough to have brought along my cap with me, if not I would have turned into a full red COOKED lobster!

Ok ciaoz! Time for bed~ Will blog again soon! =) Cheers~
